Welcome to Part 2 of our Ways to Update your Kitchen on a budget blog! If you missed Part 1 please have a read here.
Do you feel like your kitchen is looking tired and ready for an update, but you don’t have the time or money for a complete kitchen revamp. Never fear, below we have a few tips that can help you transform your existing space without breaking the bank (part 2!)
A fresh lick of paint – A fresh lick of paint will brighten up any tired kitchen! You could add a feature wall to add in some colour and vibrancy, choose a bold colour that will stand out or be even more adventurous and choose a patterned wallpaper. There are so many fantastic prints available and no, wallpaper is no longer considered old fashioned!
Invest in a Splashback / Backboard – You can easily create a sleek finish by simply adding a splashback to your kitchen. A splashback is a piece of material with a wide surface area. Install it on your kitchen walls around your worktop or your cooker.
With a range of different materials and colours, you can create the perfect backdrop for your kitchen and prepare food in total comfort knowing that your kitchen will be protected from the splashes and stains that are inevitable when cooking. We provide matching splashbacks for our laminate and solid surface worktops, allowing you to create a neat, coordinated look. We also supply glass versions in several colours and sizes.
Consider Upstands – Laminate worktops are perfect for both modern and classic kitchens and with matching laminate upstands, they look even more stylish. Use an upstand to create a pleasing transition from worktop to the wall; they are a must for ensuring your kitchen looks fantastic. Our worktop upstands consist of a thin piece of material that attaches to your kitchen wall where it meets the worktop. Each one is perfectly matched to one of our laminate worktops, and also features the same wipe-clean, non-porous covering. This means that bacteria cannot thrive on the upstand, and liquids or food won’t stain or seep into the surface. You can keep it clean by wiping it down with a damp dishcloth and a mild kitchen cleaner.
Update your sink – There are many options when it comes to choosing your kitchen sink, with a variety of colours, sizes and materials you can be sure, if chosen correctly, a new sink can create a great focal point in your kitchen. You don’t even have to stick to a single unit, if space allows, you could upgrade to a double sink, add in a waste disposal unit or a pull-out spray tap for those tricky washing up jobs. Here at Kitchens InStock we categorise our kitchen sinks by material and you can choose from:
- Stainless Steel – Single bowl, 1.5 bowl and double bowl
- Ceramic – Single bowl, 1.5 bowl and double bowl
- Granite & Composite – Single bowl, 1.5 bowl and double bowl
